<p><strong>2.</strong> The <strong>Group of Eight</strong> (<strong>G8</strong>, and formerly the <strong>G6</strong> or <strong>Group of Six</strong>) is a forum, <strong>created by France in 1975</strong>, for the governments of six major economies: <strong>France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States</strong>. In 1976,<strong> Canada</strong> joined the group, in 1997, the group added<strong> Russia</strong>, thus becoming the G8.</p>
<p>37th meeting of G8 members held at <strong>Deauville, France</strong> , Next is to be held at <strong>Chicago, USA</strong> in 2012.</p>
<p><strong>3. </strong>The Group of Twenty ( G20) is a group of <strong>finance ministers and central bank governors</strong> from 20 major economies: 19 countries plus the European Union, which is represented by the<strong> President of the European Council and by the European Central Bank</strong>. <strong>The current chair of G20 is France.</strong></p>
<p><strong>6th Summit of G20 is to be held at Cannes, France</strong> in December 2011, whereas 7th summit is to be held in Mexico.</p>
