2. The US Army conducted the test flight of Advanced Hypersonic Weapon (AHW) from the military’s Pacific Missile Range Facility on Kauai. The new weapon is capable of travelling five times the speed of sound.

3.  Ghaziabad is the second fastest growing city in the world::City Mayors Foundation, an global think tank on urban affairs said, there are 37 Indian cities among the world’s 300 fastest growing urban centres. The Indian city of Ghaziabad is the second fastest growing city in the world. The general parameter used to consider the growth of a city is the rate of its urbanization.

4. The Assam government launched a pilot project to vaccinate girls against human papiloma virus (HPV) causing cervical cancer. 300 girls in the age group of 13 to 26 years would be vaccinated at the first phase under the project. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommended vaccine.

5. Chinese Ambassador to India, Zhang Yan on 17 November 2011 handed over the cheque of 1 million US dollars for construction of a library in Nalanda International University (NIU).

6. The Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) on 15 November 2011 granted clearance to Jindal Power Limited (JPL) for its 2,400 MW power project at Tamnar in Chhattisgarh. The clearance will enable commencement of construction work as the state environment conservation board (ECB) also gave the go-ahead to the project.
