3. Malaysian squash player Nicol David won a record sixth women’s World Open title by defeating England’s Jenny Duncalf.

4. Pakistani cricketers Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif & Mohammad Amir imprisoned along with their agent for spot fixing.

5. Table Tennis Federation of India appointed Poland’s Leszek Kucharski as the Indian TT coach on a one-year contract.

6. Mary Ann Gomes of AAI emerged winner of the Velammal Educational Trust National Premier women’s chess championship.

7. Indian Oil won the 116th All India Beighton Cup Hockey title with a 2-0 win over ONGC
